That means casting talent who actually fit the brief, locking in the right locations (and the permits that make them usable), coordinating wardrobe and props that show up prepped, and building schedules that keep the day on track without killing the vibe.
We’re also the ones making sure there’s parking, power, a backup plan, and snacks people actually want to eat. We work with trusted crew who are great at what they do—problem-solvers, team players, and professionals who keep things moving without the attitude.
Great production is invisible—but you’ll feel it when the day runs smoothly, the team feels supported, and you actually get the shots you need.
Christy has been producing for me for the past few years and always does an exceptional job. I never have to worry during pre-production when working with Christy. Having her on a job always allows me to focus on the creative. She has an amazing ability of keeping her calm; she is an extremely hard worker, organized, detailed and kind. We always end the job under budget and on schedule!
Christy Schmid is my favorite producer because she is incredibly reliable, efficient, and knowledgeable in both stills and motion production. We have worked together for years, and she consistently delivers exceptional results, no matter the project. Her ability to anticipate challenges and solve problems quickly makes every production run smoothly. Christy’s professionalism and dedication ensure that every shoot is well-organized and stress-free. I always trust her expertise, and working with her is truly a pleasure.
From beginning to end, Christy went above and beyond to make sure the entire production was smooth and successful. A total professional, and highly recommended!
Christy was my local producer for a photoshoot in Milwaukee. It was our first time working together and, given the challenges our production was thrown, it could have been a disaster. But Christy was great and just kept rolling with every twist and turn - including finding out one of our locations was going to be demolished the day of our shoot (despite multiple confirmations of its availability). What could have been total chaos went off without a hitch. Christy was the perfect production parter. Focused, committed and calm. I look forward to working with her again.
Christy line produced a big project for me recently and was a life saver. Her organizational skills and ability to go above and beyond expectation made the final project efficient and cost effective and client and agency were both very happy. Would definitely recommend Christy for any project - big or small!
Christy brings enthusiasm, dedication and creativity to her productions and I know when I hire her I can depend on her to take care of all the details. She gives me confidence that everything will be on schedule, on budget, and a pleasant experience will be had by all.
I got my start schlepping gear as a photo assistant, and working as a PA and PC before I ever called myself a producer. I spent years learning how sets run—from the ground up. I’ve been in the trenches, solving problems before they became problems, watching what makes a set functional and what makes it fall apart. That experience made me the producer I am today: calm, efficient, grounded, and seriously good at what I do.
Since 2009, I’ve worked across photography and motion projects of all sizes—and in 2014, I launched my own production company. I’ve built a network of solid crew, collaborators, and clients, and I’ve learned to love the madness that comes with getting great work done.
When I’m not producing, I’m usually off chasing something new—slow travel, loose plans, and the kind of trips that leave room for surprises. I’ve shot for NGOs like the Milaan Foundation in India and love projects that use photography to tell real stories.
I’m also the photo editor at Ripple of Change magazine, a nonfiction addict with too many half-read books piling up by my nightstand, and a very committed, incredibly untalented ceramics student. I make a lot of tiny mugs and bowls that hold absolutely nothing—but they do spark joy.
